On June 12, the NYC Department of Education's annual city-wide public school exhibition, PS Art, opened at The Metropolitan Museum of Art. This year's edition of PS Art marks the 10th anniversary of the competition and the fifth year that Studio in a School underwrites and coordinates the exhibition. PS Art 2012 presents 76 paintings, prints, sculptures, mixed-media works, collages, and drawings created by students ages 5 through 19.
At the opening reception, STUDIO honored 12 high school seniors with scholarships. Each recipient received a $1,500 scholarship to further their art study.
PS Art 2012 will be on view in the Ruth and Harold D. Uris Center for Education at the Met until August 7, 2011.
